Shorenstein Company

The Shorenstein Company, LLC, is one of the United States' largest and oldest privately owned real estate firms, owning interests in, or managing, some 20 million square feet (2,000,000 m²) of office space. 7 million square feet (650,000 m²) of their space is in San Francisco, California, making it one of the city's largest office landlords.[1]

Founded by Walter Shorenstein after World War II, who died of natural causes on 6/25/2010, the company is now owned by his son, chairman and CEO Douglas W. Shorenstein. The President of the company is Glenn A. Shannon. By 2006, Shorenstein Properties was the 20th largest owner of office buildings in the United States.[2] As of 2013, Shorenstein properties, via ten separate investment funds, owns and manages 23.8 million square feet of office properties valued at $7 billion.[3]

Shorenstein Properties purchased Capella Tower complex for $255 million.[4] In February 2018, Shorenstein Properties debut a new food hall as one of its upgrades to One Oxford Centre.[5]
