Shiori Usui

Shiori Usui is a composer of contemporary classical music based in Scotland.

Career

Her music has been performed by ensembles across the world including the Wigmore Hall London, Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall in Japan and the Jordan Hall, Boston USA.[1] Her music has been performed at the BBC Proms.[2]

In 2011, she was commissioned by the Scottish Symphony Orchestra.[3]

In 2012, her composition 'Warai' received the Toru Takemitsu Composition Award. In 2012, she was a Civitella Ranieri fellow.[4]
