Sheinelle Marie Jones (born April 19, 1978) is an American journalist and news anchor working for NBC News and MSNBC. She is co-anchor of the Saturday editions of Weekend Today, a host of MSNBC Live, and a correspondent for all platforms of NBC News.[1] She also frequently contributes and substitutes on weekdays. She previously served as news anchor for Weekend Today.
Early life
Jones was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of U.S. District Court Judge C. Darnell Jones II and Sheila Kinnard.[2]
Education
She attended Wichita Brooks Middle Magnet School and Wichita Heights High School, both in Wichita, Kansas, and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.[3] Her first broadcast job was in Springfield, Illinois[3] for WICS.[4]
Journalist
Before going to work for NBC News, Jones worked at KOKI-TV, the FOX affiliate in Tulsa, Oklahoma[4] and WTXF-TV, the FOX O&O in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.[1] She was at the Philadelphia station for over nine years.[1]
Personal life
Jones is married to Uche Ojeh and they have three children together. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

After graduating from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, she did a couple of gigs in smaller, Midwestern markets, then came to Philadelphia in 2005 as a general-assignment reporter for Good Day. She was born in the city and family live here, including her father, U.S. District Judge C. Darnell Jones.
