Shannon Murray

Shannon Murray (born 1976 in Dublin, Ireland) is an actress, writer, disability consultant and a solicitor. She is the daughter of Frank Murray who was the manager of The Pogues and Thin Lizzy.[1]

Murray was left paralysed from the waist down after a diving accident when she was 14 years old. She then went on to win the first ever search for a disabled model and was the first disabled model to feature in a high profile advertising campaign for the British store Debenhams.[2][3][4][5]

She has appeared in a number of dramas for the BBC and Channel 4 such as Holby City and Casualty, and in 2017 appeared in the BBC1 and BBC3 Doctor Who spinoff series Class.[6]

In 2018, Murray appeared in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, as Sarah-Jane Spilsbury, a journalist from Walford Gazette. She appeared in one episode in April and one in June, and will return again in August.
