Shannon Bream (born Shannon Noelle DePuy,[1]December 23, 1970)[2] is an American commentator for the Fox News Channel.[3] In 2017, Bream became the host of the prime time program, Fox News @ Night.[4]

Biography

Shannon Bream is a well-known name in the American entertainment fraternity. She is an American commentator and currently works for the Fox News Channel. She is Fox News’s Supreme Court state media commentator and was also the anchor of America’s News Headquarters on Sundays and anchor of America’s Election Headquarters weekdays. Occasionally, Shannon serves as a substitute anchor for Special Report with Bret Baier, Fox News Sunday.

Shannon (Born Shannon Noelle DePuy.) is the only daughter born to Marie Norris, a teacher, and Ed DePuy, a Leon County Commissioner. Shannon was born in the city of Sanford Florida, United States of America, December 23, 1970. From the time she was a child growing up in the city Tallahassee, Florida, Shannon was already interested in pursuing a career in journalism and news broadcasting. Her inspiration to build a career in the field was drawn from seeing beautiful female journalists and news anchors. Although her parents did not approve of her ambition because they thought she would never be able to make ends meet with a career in journalism or broadcasting, since then, she has succeeded in proving them wrong. The successful journalist began her academic journey at an elementary school in her hometown of Tallahassee, Florida and afterward, she moved on to North Florida Christian High School in Tallahassee and graduated in the class of 1988 at the age of 17.

Moving on to College, Shannon attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia where she received a degree in business in 1992. While attending Liberty University, Shannon met her future husband Sheldon Bream, she also won the beauty-pageant title Miss Virginia in 1990. She participated in the Miss America 1991 pageant. Her scholarship award covered much of her education.[5]

After she concluded her studies from Liberty University in 1992 with a degree in Business and marrying her college sweetheart Sheldon Bream. Shannon returned to Tallahassee and attended the law school at Florida State University. . She also interned with then Florida Congressman Bill McCollum, in the US House of Representatives. McCollum would later become the Florida Attorney General. While at the law school at Florida State, she won the Miss Florida USA pageant (1995) and placed fourth in the Miss USA 1995 pageant.[5]

Career

After graduation from Florida State University College of Law (1996), Bream moved to Tampa, Florida and began her law career.[6]

She eventually made a career change from the legal profession to pursue a career in television news.

In 2001, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, becoming the evening and late-night news reporter for the CBS affiliate, WBTV.[5] In 2004, after three years at WBTV, she joined Washington D.C.’s NBC affiliate WRC-TV, where she worked as a weekend anchor and covered general assignments.

While at WRC-TV, Bream met Brit Hume, who was the managing editor of the Fox News Channel's Washington bureau. With his encouragement, she submitted audition tapes to Fox News. Bream joined the Fox News Channel in November 2007, and is based in the network's Washington, D.C. bureau. She then became the anchor/host of Fox News @ Night.
