Shane Nigam is an Indian film actor who appears in Malayalam films. He made his debut through the film Kismath and was a well known child artist in television series. He is the son of actor and comedian Kalabhavan Abi.

Personal life

Shane is born as eldest among three children, to Abi and Sunila, at Elamakkara, Kochi, Kerala. He has two younger sisters, Ahana and Aleena.[1] Shane's father Abi[2][3] was an actor and popular mimicry artist. His father, passed away on 30 November 2017 due to aplastic anemia. Shane did his schooling at Bhavans Vidya Mandir (Elamakkara), Ernakulam. He is currently pursuing his final year engineering at Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology, Kochi. After completing his college education, Shane wishes to study cinematography.

Career

Child artist

Nigam started his career in television appearing in the dance reality show Super Dancer Junior and then forayed into Malayalam Television soap operas.He acted in two seasons of television serial Hello Kuttichathan aired in Asianet , the TV series was a hit among the kids.Shane directed and acted in few short films along with his friends. He had also acted in a few comedy series along with his father Abi. He made the big screen debut in Anwar playing the child's role in introduction scene of Prithviraj.

Film career

He made his acting debut with the film Annayum Rasoolum, portraying the role of Anna’s (Andrea Jeremiah) brother.[4] Later Rajeev Ravi offered him the lead role in Njan Steve Lopez but didn't take up the role.

2016–present

He made his debut as a lead actor in 2016 film, Kismath opposite to Shruthy Menon .Producer of the film Rajeev Ravi offered him the lead role, his character won praise among the malayali audience and the movie was a hit in the box office[5] In later part of the year he acted in the movie C/O Saira Banu alongside Manju Warrier and Amala Akkineni, in which he plays a law student. The movie released in 2017 and was a hit at the box office and received highly positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. After these hits he starred in Soubin Shahir`s first direction venture Parava with Dulquer Salman, which was a hit.

He has also bagged Shaji.N.Karun's new film which is woven around a rape victim.
