Shams al-Din

Shams al-Din (IPA: /ʃamsaddiːn/) (Arabic: شمس الدين, lit. "sun of the faith"[1]) is an Arabic personal name or title.

In Northern India, the title Shamsuddin was held by many Muslim Nobles of Persian-Mughal descent. Many of the recent generations of this bloodline migrated to the Sindh area of Pakistan. The Shamsuddin line were Urdu-Speakers descended from Persians themselves, they contributed to the development of the Urdu language.
