Shaheedur Rahman (Bengali: শহীদুর রাহ্ মান) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer who played in 2 ODIs in 1986. He played before the establishment of the first-class game in Bangladesh, and before his nation attained Test status, but did represent his country in England in the 1986 ICC Trophy Tournament for non test playing nations. He scored 14 out of Bangladesh's 171 in reply to Zimbabwe's mammoth 315 in his first appearance and made 3 against Kenya before Bangladesh defended 144 to win a thrilling, low scoring contest by 9 runs.[1]
He is the first batsmen to score the highest individual score for Bangladesh in the very first ODI match in Bangladesh cricket history. He made his full One Day International debut on 31 March 1986 in the John Player Gold Leaf Trophy (Asia Cup) against Pakistan at the Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa and played his second match against Sri Lanka at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy in the same competition. A right-handed top order batsman, he came in at number four and top scored with 37 from 60 balls as Bangladesh were skittled for 94 by Wasim Akram, Imran Khan and Abdul Qadir.[2] He scored 25, at number 5, against Sri Lanka, who bowled Bangladesh out for 131 and won by 7 wickets.[3]
Shaheedur Rahman did not play any international matches after 1985/86 season.
