Luis Sergio Peris-Mencheta Barrio (born Madrid, 7 April 1975), better known as Sergio Peris-Mencheta, is a Spanish theatre, cinema and television actor, as well as theatre director.[1] He appeared in more than forty films since 1997.

Early life and career

Barrio was born on April 7, 1975 to parents Madrilenian and Muscovite Barrio, he studied at the French Lyceum in Madrid. He was a rugby player who played international and has won several championships, and was captain of the youth team. After finishing secondary school he enrolled at the Carlos III University to study Law and Business Studies , he was in the university theater group then directed by Inés París where he explains in his interviews he discovered that he wanted to be an actor.

After being presented to diverse castings, Peris-Mencheta was chosen in 1998 to interpret the personage of Dani Daroca Lavín in the teleserie. Thanks to this television broadcast, in which he participated until 1999, Sergio got popularity among the adolescent audience.
