Sensuous is the fifth studio album by Cornelius.[10] It was originally released in 2006. It peaked at number 8 on the Oricon Albums Chart.[12] In the United States, it was released via Everloving Records in 2007.

Critical reception

At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, Sensuous received an average score of 70% based on 18 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews".[1]

Heather Phares of AllMusic gave the album 4 stars out of 5, calling it "the finest expression of Cornelius' inimitable, playfully sophisticated musical language yet."[2] Eric Harvey of Pitchfork gave the album a 7.8 out of 10, writing that the album "represents yet another step forward for Oyamada's unique headphone pop."[8] He added, "It's not quite the departure that Point was from Fantasma, but it feels like a natural next step."[8]
