Sean Rubin

Sean Rubin is an American illustrator and author, known for his children's book Bolivar and work illustrating some of the Redwall books. He has also illustrated for Mouse Guard.[1] Rubin was born in Brooklyn, New York and lives in Charlottesville, Virginia.[2]

Bolivar

Rubin wrote and illustrated a children's book about a dinosaur living in New York, called Bolivar, and his neighbour, a young girl called Sybil. He began work on the book in 2003, commencing illustration work in 2011. Published by Archaia in 2017, Bolivar was named an NY Public Libraries Best Book of 2017[3], and was also nominated for an Eisner Award[4].

In April 2018 it was announced Bolivar was acquired by Fox, 21 Laps and BOOM! to be made into a feature film[5].
