Sean Anstee
Sean Brian Anstee (born July 1987[1]) is a British Conservative Party Politician and businessman who is the leader of the opposition on Trafford council and since 2008, has been a Councillor for the Bowdon ward.
Anstee is also the CEO of Manchester based technology firm telcolm Uk.
He served as Leader of Trafford Council from 2014-2018.
He also was the Conservative candidate for Mayor of Greater Manchester in the 2017 election, achieving 128,752 votes (22.7%) and coming second behind Labour's Andy Burnham.[2][3]
Anstee grew up on a council estate in Partington, and attended Broadoak School, leaving aged 16 to take up an apprenticeship at Barclays in Timperley. He joined BNY Mellon in 2009.[4][5] He has represented Bowdon on the council since 2008, and became Leader of the council in February 2014. At age 26, he was the youngest council leader in the UK.[6] He is openly gay and has been married to his partner Thomas, a teacher, since 2010.[7]
