Scolecoseps is a genus of skinks, lizards in the family Scincidae. The genus is endemic to East Africa.

Species

Genus Scolecoseps contains four species.[2]

  • Scolecoseps acontias (F. Werner, 1913) – Tanzania
  • Scolecoseps boulengeri Loveridge, 1920 – Mozambique
  • Scolecoseps broadleyi Verburgt, Verburgt, & Branch, 2018 – Mozambique
  • Scolecoseps litipoensis Broadley, 1995 – Tanzania

Nota bene: A binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Scolecoseps.

Etymology

The specific name, boulengeri, is in honor of Belgian-British herpetologist George Albert Boulenger.[3]
