"Save Me" is a song by Australian singer Joelle Hadjia. The single, accompanied by a music video, was released on 15 April 2014.[2]

Background

"'Save Me' isn’t just important to me because it's my debut single, its also my story as to how I developed into the individual I am today," Hadjia said upon the single's release.[2] She told the Daily Mail, "I have been through so many experiences like every girl, and I wanted to take a stand and speak up on behalf of all females who have felt hurt from relationships."[2] Hadjia revealed that she has drawn on personal heartbreak after her split from South Sydney Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess in December 2013.[2]

Music video

Hadjia began teasing the release of the music video.[3] The official music video was released on her YouTube account on 19 April 2014.[2]

Opening with a close up sequence of the Hadjia wearing headphones, the video goes on to show Hadjia playfully hugging and pulling funny faces.[2] Audiences are introduced to Hadjia's onscreen love interest.[2] As the video progresses, audiences witness the increasingly apparent conflict between the pair, as they stop speaking during dates.[2] As the clip fast forwards to Hadjia's life a few months later, the artist rocks a white mesh fitted frock complemented with bold diva curls and effortlessly smiles at her ex-love interest.[2] As he approaches her, clearly blown away by her stunning new look, Hadjia enjoys sweet revenge, by making a "rude finger" gesture to her ex-lover and then strutting off with her girls.[2]
