Plot

Amid angry protests from anti-TV violence groups on the White House lawn, the head of Richard Nixon and the headless clone of Spiro Agnew try to watch a Saturday morning cartoon block, featuring the Futurama gang in parodies of Saturday morning favorites from the late 1960s into the early-to-mid 1980s:

  • G.I. Zapp: A violent G.I. Joe parody that Nixon tries to edit for violence and offensive language.

Reception

The A.V. Club gave this episode a D,[1] while Max Nicholson of IGN gave the episode a 7.7/10 "Good" rating, saying "This week's Futurama featured an overall enjoyable lampooning of Saturday morning cartoons, with no exceptional dud."[2]

The episode was also nominated for a 2014 Writers Guild of America Award for its animation.[3]
