Satnam Singh Kainth (21 April 1961 – 14 January 2018) was an Indian politician and belonged to Indian National Congress. He was Vice-President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC). He was a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Banga Assembly Constituency as well as Leader of Opposition from 1992-97. He was elected to the Parliament from Phillaur in 1998 and remained as an MP till mid 1999. He died of Brain Hemorrhage on 14 January 2018 after remaining in Hospital for about one and a half months.[1] He contested Punjab Assembly elections in 2012 and 2017 on Congress Ticket from Adampur and Banga respectively but lost subsequently.[2][3][4][5]
