Sasikumaran is a film director, producer, writer, cinematographer, lyricist who works predominantly in Tamil Cinema. He is known for his work as a writer for Santosh Sivan's critically acclaimed Tamil film Urumi (film).[1] Sasikumaran is now debuting as a director with the Tamil film Papparapaam.[2]

Career

Sasikumaran began his film career assisting Malayalam film director TV Chandran for the film Aadum Koothu. He has also done cinematography for the title song of Venkat Prabhu's debut venture Chennai 600028.

Later he worked with popular film director and actor S. J. Surya as screenplay associate for his Telugu film Komaram Puli.[3] Following this, he began working as a co-director for Santosh Sivan for his film Urumi (film).[4] Sasikumaran was also the writer of the Tamil version of Urumi. His work in the film, as a writer, was much acclaimed by critics.

At present Sasikumaran has completed his Tamil directorial debut Papparapaam,[5][6] for which he is the producer as well.[7][8]

Sasikumaran is a Visual Communication graduate from Loyola College, Chennai. Besides Mainstream Cinema, he has also worked as a cinematographer for notable documentaries on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Lives of Indian stuntmen and a few other documentaries for National Geographic Channel (India) and History TV18.
