Sashi Brown (born May 15, 1976) is an American attorney and a former football executive. He was the Executive Vice President of football operations and de facto general manager for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League from January 3, 2016, until his firing on December 7, 2017.[1][2] He was the Browns' executive vice president/general counsel from January 2013 to January 2016.[3]

Brown was an attorney with Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr, a private law firm based in Washington, D.C. As a member of the firm’s corporate law practice group, Brown advised companies in a variety of business transactions. He earned an undergraduate degree from Hampton University in 1998 and a juris doctorate degree from Harvard Law School in 2002. Brown is a member of the New York, District of Columbia and Florida bars.[4]

From 2005 to 2012, Brown was the lead counsel for the Jacksonville Jaguars. While working with the Jaguars organization, Brown served as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Section 8 Subcommittee to the Jacksonville Housing Authority. He also played a role in negotiating the naming rights deal for EverBank Field.[4]

Prior to that, Brown worked in the Washington D.C.-based law firm Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr as part of the business transactions group.[3]

Personal life

Brown resides in Shaker Heights, Ohio, a Cleveland, Ohio suburb, with wife Paige, sons Robeson and Ellison, and daughter Zora.
