Sara Jane Ho (Chinese:何佩嵘;born December 5, 1985) is a Chinese businesswoman and founder of the Institute Sarita, a finishing school headquartered in Beijing, China. In May 2015, she opened a second school in Shanghai.

Early life and education

Ho attended primary and secondary schools at Peak School, German Swiss International School in Hong Kong, and Phillips Exeter Academy. She studied English literature and government at Georgetown University where she currently sits on the College Board and holds an MBA at Harvard Business School.[1][2]

Career

From 2007 to 2009, Ho was a mergers & acquisitions analyst at the boutique New York investment bank, Perella Weinberg Partners.

Institute Sarita

After graduating from Institut Villa Pierrefeu, a Swiss finishing school, Ho moved to Beijing in 2013 to establish Institute Sarita. Based on a Swiss finishing school concept, the institute provides lifestyle and etiquette training under two main courses: hostessing, a twelve-day course targeting married women, and debutante, a ten-day course targeting unmarried women. Courses include western table manners, floral arrangement, table conversation, dresscodes, and British afternoon tea. In May 2015, Ho opened a second school in Shanghai.[3][4][5][6]

Honors and awards

In 2013, Ho was included on the Forbes 2013 list “Future Women in the Mix in Asia: 12 to Watch" and in 2015 was included as "30 under 30" for BBC 100 Women.[7] Ho is a Global Shaper for the World Economic Forum.[8] Institute Sarita was recognised as one of the "World's Most Innovative 50 Companies" by Fast Company magazine in 2014.[9]
