The Sani Abacha Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kano, Kano State, Nigeria. It is currently used mostly for football matches and also sometimes for athletics. The stadium is the home of Kano Pillars F.C.. The stadium has a capacity of 16,000. It is named after deceased former military dictator Sani Abacha. It hosted several international competitions including the 2000 African Cup of Nations and the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup. In the 2016-17 season, the Kano Pillars drew an average home attendance for national league games of 10,000, the highest in the Nigerian league.
