Sancus is a genus of spiders in the family Tetragnathidae.[1]
Taxonomy
The genus name Sancus was first used for a genus of spiders by Albert Tullgren in 1910, and as of September 2018, is accepted by the World Spider Catalog.[1] However, the name had been used by de Niceville in 1891 for a genus of skippers,[2] suggesting that the name was unavailable for use by Tullgren.
Species
As of September 2018, the World Spider Catalog accepted the following extant species:[1]
- Sancus acoreensis (Wunderlich, 1992) – Azores
- Sancus bilineatus Tullgren, 1910 (type species) – Kenya, Tanzania
