The San Diego Sockers 2 are an American professional indoor soccer team based in San Diego, California. They are a developmental team that are charter members of the Major Arena Soccer League 2, the MASL's developmental league formed in 2017. Like their parent club, the San Diego Sockers, they play their home games at Valley View Casino Center and are run by CEO David Pike. The head coaches are Rene Ortiz and Ray Taila.

History

The team was created in 2017 as a way to help develop players under contract with the parent San Diego Sockers. They played their first season in the same arena as their parent club, the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego. They went 7-5 in the regular season and 2-1 in the playoffs winning the first ever Western Conference title in M2 history. They advanced to the inaugural M2 Cup Champion, but fell to the eventual champion Chicago Mustangs (who moved down to M2) 7-0. [1]
