Samuel David Jimenez, known as Smash David, is an American record producer and songwriter. He produced Big Sean's "Bounce Back"[1] [2] and "Pills & Automobiles"[3] by Chris Brown from the Heartbreak on a Full Moon album. [4]

Samuel David Jimenez is Spanish, born and raised in Miami, Florida.[5]

Career

Smash David has worked with the artist and producers Khalid, Omarion, Dej Loaf, Kehlani, Jeremiah, Lil Wayne, Jason Derulo, Hitmaka and Metro Boomin. On February 25, 2017, his production for Big Sean’s song Bounce Back peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and went triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). [6][7] He also received a certified Gold plaque for producing and co-writing Chris Brown’s Pills & Automobiles featuring Yo Gotti, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Kodak Black [8] and a 4x platinum plaque for Location by Khalid.[9][10]

Controversy

American record producer TM88 claimed he didn’t get any credit for his music production work on "Bounce Back”. He collaborated with Smash David on a different song Act by Juicy J, creating what he said were the same drum and instrument tracks used in Bounce Back. Smash David responded with an Instagram video demonstrating that TM88's claim was false.[11][1] [12]
