Salpiglossis /ˌsælpɪˈɡlɒsɪs/[1] is a genus of the botanical family Solanaceae.

Salpiglossis derives from the Greek for "trumpet" (salpinx) and "tongue" (glossa). This ornamental plant is prettily veined and produces funnel-shaped flowers. The plant grows to an average height of 75 cm.
