Safire (illusionists)

Safire are an illusion act based in the UK, hailing from Wales. The act comprises of Stuart Loughland and Libby Edwards.

Highlights of their career include receiving an invitation from illusionists Siegfried and Roy to appear in their World Magic Show at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas, and also performing at the 20th Century Fox Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. They also performed in a Royal Variety Performance at The Prince of Wales Theatre in London's West End.

Safire have appeared with BBC's The Chuckle Brothers for twelve years (up to and including 2013) and also perform a giant puppet UV act, "The Magic Light Puppet Company", as well as playing parts and presenting their illusions.

Stuart Loughland was a member of Colwyn Bay rock band Nitelyne during the 1980s, contributing vocals and keyboards. The band featured on Ebony Records' Heavy Metal Collection Vol. 3 with their original song, "Winners or Losers", for which Stuart wrote the lyrics.

2008 saw Safire performing at Bridlington Spa Theatre, Blackpool Tower and Skegness Embassy Theatre in "Billy Pearce's Big Night Out" along with Billy Pearce, Linda Newport and Neil Hurst.

Safire's TV appearances have included Children's ITV, Sooty, Talk of the Town and The Pyjama Party with Claudia Winkleman. They also have appeared on Granada TV's Christmas Special with Noddy Holder and the cast of Coronation Street, and three Chuckle Brothers DVDs.

Performing close up table magic and large scale illusions, Safire's corporate clients include Virgin, Barclaycard, Channel 4, Sky TV, Nat West, BUPA, Hilton, Jaguar and Mercedes.

Stuart also work as illusion consultant for stage and TV.

The couple also run "Magic Light Productions", which has produced nine pantomimes: Jack and the Beanstalk, Aladdin and Dick Whittington to name but a few.
