SUNeVision Holdings Limited (Chinese: 新意網集團有限公司) (SEHK: 1686) is an IT company and the technology arm of Sun Hung Kai Properties, one of the largest property developers in Hong Kong. It is engaged in operation of Internet and data services centers and provision of system management services, and the design and installation of satellite master antenna television (SMATV) or communal antenna broadcast distribution (CABD) and security surveillance system.[1]

History

The company was established and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange via Growth Enterprise Market in 2000 with its IPO price of HK$10.38 per share. The international placing and public offer of the shares subscription were 55 and 217 times oversubscribed respectively. It is picking up again since 2008 and is now trading above $2, on the back of the growth of the data center business.

In recent years, in view of the rising demand of internet and network data storage, processing and transfer, the HKSAR Government has advocated strategic development for Hong Kong to become the prime location for data centers in Asia Pacific. Through long-term strategic initiatives such as industrial building conversion, high-tier data center land auctions, and expansion projects, the company has been an active key player in the data center business in Hong Kong.

Business

SUNeVision harnesses Sun Hung Kai Properties' principal technology assets including iAdvantage, Super e-Technology, Super e-Network and venture capital investments.

  • iAdvantage is one of the major operators of cloud and carrier-neutral data center services in Hong Kong. It offers a comprehensive range of facilities management services from standard racks to custom-designed facilities, including uninterruptible power supply, monitored 24-hour operating service, data center security and high-speed Internet connections. In addition to the four data centers situated in Kwun Tong, Tsuen Wan, Chai Wan and Fotan, iAdvantage is undergoing two major expansion projects that will contribute to an additional 730,000 sq.ft. of gross data center space in the coming three years.
  • Super e-Technology engages in the installation and maintenance of its satellite distribution network, fibre-optic cable, networking and security surveillance systems; and is one of the major players in the industry in Hong Kong.
  • Super e-Network provides professional design-and-build consultancy service for wireless and broadband network projects, it is a pioneer in intelligent-building networks.

  • MEGA Plus (A purpose-built Tier 4 ready greenfield data center. This 470,000 sq. ft. flagship data center is built on a dedicated land lot in Tseung Kwan O for high-tier data center development. It will be ready for services in 2017.)
  • MEGA-i (Located on Hong Kong Island, a purpose-built carrier neutral data center with over 100 global and China carriers. It is one of the largest Tier 3+ Internet Service Center buildings in the world with a total gross space over 350,000 sq.ft.)
  • MEGA Two (Located in Fo Tan, a data center converted from industrial building with Tier 3+ data center standard)
  • ONE (A data center with 20,000 sq. ft. floor space located in Kwun Tong)
  • JUMBO (A data center with 120,000 sq. ft. floor space located in Tsuen Wan)
