Supernova 2008ax was a type Ib supernova in Peculiar Galaxy NGC 4490. As the name indicates, it was discovered in 2008 on 3 March by LOSS[2] and Koichi Itagaki.[3] It was the third-brightest supernova of 2008.[4]
