The SEA Tour is a professional League of Legends championship series with teams in Southeast Asia that was founded in 2018 Summer Split, replaces the Garena Premier League (GPL). The competition currently consists of 8 teams who qualifies the "SEA Tour National Qualifiers" in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Winners of SEA Tour Championship will represent Southeast Asia to play in the international competitions: Mid-Season Invitational, Rift Rivals, World Championship.[1]

The 8 slots in main event will consist of 5 country slots, made up of one representative from each countries' National qualifier, as well as 3 additional slots granted to the top 3 countries of last season (as first time, based in the result of GPL Spring 2018, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines will have 2 slots, while Singapore and Indonesia will have 1 slot to the 2018 SEA Tour Championship Summer).
Format
In each country, after the Online qualifier, the National qualifier will be started with 8 Teams play in Double-Elimination Tournament Bracket. The rest of the matches are Best-of-3. Winners/Losers Bracket Finals (country has 2 slots) and Grand Final (country has 1 slot) will be Best-of-5. The National qualifiers will select 8 teams that is the winner of each Bracket Final/Grand Final represent their country in the SEA Tour Championship main event that will be hosted in a specific location.
In main event group stage, 8 teams are drawn into 2 groups based on seeding, 4 teams each group. If a country has 2 teams, they can not placed in same group, and the top seeds teams from 2 best countries in last season can not placed in same group. All matches is played in Best-of-1, Double Round Robin format. Top 2 teams each group advance to play-off.
In play-off, 1st place teams from the Group stage each face a 2nd place team. Matches are Best-of-5. Winners advance to final, losers drop to 3rd place match. Top 3 teams of Spring Split will represent SEA's team in Rift Rivals, compete with LJL's team from Japan and OPL's team from Oceania. Champion of Spring Split will qualify to Mid-Season Invitational Play-in stage. Champion of Summer Split will qualify to World Championship Play-in stage.
