Società Sportiva Dilettantistica Città di Messina S.r.l. is an Italian football club based in Messina, Sicily. It currently plays in Serie D.

History

Foundation

In 2010, U.S.D. Camaro Messina was renamed to S.S.D. Città di Messina,[3] as one of the phoenix club of F.C. Messina Peloro.

Serie D

In the season 2011–12 the team was promoted from Eccellenza Sicily Group B[4] to Serie D after playoffs.[5]

However, the club was then relegated twice, and won two straight promotion in 2017 from 2016–17 Promozione Sicily and 2018 from 2017–18 Eccellenza Sicily.

Colors and badge

Its colors are yellow and red.

Stadium

S.S.D. Città di Messina, plays its home games in the old stadium of the city, the 11,900 seater Stadio Giovanni Celeste.[1]
