The National Security or Moroccan Police (French: Sûreté nationale, Arabic: الأمن الوطني Al-'Amn al-Waṭaniy) is the authoritative and main State police body of Morocco. The Sûreté Nationale is tasked with upholding the law and public order. It was founded on 16 May 1956[1] by King Mohammed V. By 2007 the police had 46,000 personnel.
