Ryu Se-ra (Hangul: 류세라, born October 3, 1987),[2] also known by the mononym Sera (Hangul: 세라), is a South Korean singer-songwriter signed under self-founded agency OCTO.[3] She is a former leader and main vocalist of South Korean girl group Nine Muses.[4][5]

Career

2010–2014: Nine Muses

On August 12, 2010, Sera debuted as part of the girl group Nine Muses.[6] Later, she became the leader and main vocalist of the group, following the departure of former leader Rana. On June 23, 2014, Star Empire announced that Sera's exclusive contract had expired and that she had decided to graduate from the group.[7]

2015–present: Solo activity

On August 1, 2015, Sera released her first solo EP album "SeRen:Ade".[8] On September, 2015, Sera held her first solo solo concert in Hongdae, for which 600 people attended.[9]

In March 2018, Sera founded a new agency OCTO and announced that she will continue solo activities with her real name, Ryu Sera.[10] An agency official has stated that the name OCTO carries a meaning of a new beginning.[11] On March 2, Sera released a single album "Stay Real", managed and published by her new agency.[12] Later that month, Sera held a second solo concert titled "Spring Rain" at Olympic Hall Muse Live stage,[13] followed by a concert titled "Sun Shower" held on June 23, 2018 at CKL stage.[14][15][16]
