Ryan Wilson (born 18 May 1989) is a English Rugby Union player. His regular playing position is loose forward. He plays for Glasgow Warriors in the Pro14.[1]

Rugby Union career

Amateur career

Wilson has come to prominence despite attending a private. secondary school that did not field a Rugby Union team: Frensham Heights School in Surrey. During his time at Frensham Wilson proved to be adept at football. He played in the school's first XI for two years.[2]

Having played his mini and junior rugby at Farnham RUFC in Surrey, he spent a 'happy year' at Moseley.[3]

Wilson was drafted to Marr in the Scottish Premiership for the 2017-18 season.[4]

Wilson has been drafted to Stirling County in the Scottish Premiership for the 2018-19 season.[5]

Professional career

Wilson joined Glasgow Warriors from Moseley in 2010.[2] He has been made captain of the club for the 2017-18 season.[6]

International career

He then went on to represent Scotland A, Scotland under-20 and Scotland under-19.[7]

Disciplinary record

Wilson was banned for 3 months due to an unprovoked assault in 2015, leaving a man with a fractured eye socket.[8] He was cleared after an investigation into an incident that happened on the England vs Scotland Match of the Calcutta Cup on Saturday 24th February 2018.[9]
