Ryan James Clark (born 9 April 1983) is an Australian lifeguard, former television and film actor, who became known for his portrayal of Sam Marshall in Home and Away over the course of a decade.

Biography

Born in Paddington, Clark was raised in the Sydney beachside suburb of Bronte, where he still lives.[2]

Acting career

Clark is best known for his role as Sam Marshall in the Seven Network soap opera Home and Away. In 1991, Clark joined the cast of Home and Away as Sam Marshall when he was eight years old. He departed the show in 2001, but returned for two guest appearances in 2002 and 2005.[3] He appeared as an Australian surfer in the Olsen Twins film Our Lips Are Sealed (2000). In 2008, he played a minor role in the Australian film The Black Balloon.

Bondi lifeguard

In 2008, Clark quit acting and trained as a Lifeguard. He currently patrols Bondi Beach which is the setting for the television show Bondi Rescue in which he appears where he is better known by his nickname "Whippet".[4]
