Ryōgokutan (2015) was the first Ryōgokutan professional wrestling event produced by Big Japan Pro Wrestling (BJW). The event took place on July 20, 2015 at the Ryōgoku Kokugikan in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan. The event was the twentieth anniversary show of BJW and marked the celebration of twenty years of BJW's existence.[1]
Nine professional wrestling matches were contested on the card. In the main event, Yuji Okabayashi defeated the defending champion Daisuke Sekimoto to capture the World Strong Heavyweight Championship. In other major matches on the card, Ryuji Ito defeated Abdullah Kobayashi in a 20th Anniversary 20 Items Deathmatch for the Deathmatch Heavyweight Championship, Twin Towers (Kohei Sato and Shuji Ishikawa) successfully defended the Tag Team Championship against Yankee Two Kenju (Isami Kodaka and Yuko Miyamoto) and the team of Great Kojika, Kankuro Hoshino and Masato Inaba defeated Brahman Kei, Brahman Shu and Takayuki Ueki to win the Yokohama Shopping Street 6-Man Tag Team Championship.[2]
Event
Preliminary matches
The event kicked off with a tag team match between the team of Toshiyuki Sakuda and Yoshihisa Uto and the team of Kazumi Kikuta and Yuichi Taniguchi. Uto applied a crab hold on Kikuta, forcing him to submit to the hold for the win.[2]
Next, MEN's Teioh teamed with the Speed of Sounds (Hercules Senga and Tsutomu Oosugi) to take on the team of Atsushi Maruyama, Shinobu and Tsubasa. Teioh, Sensa and Oosugi delivered a triple Miracle Ecstasy to Shinobu and Teioh pinned him for the win.[2]
Next, Koji Kanemoto and Tatsuhito Takaiwa competed against Team Yamato (Daichi Hashimoto and Kazuki Hashimoto). Hashimoto hit a BOC and a scoop brainbuster to Takaiwa for the win.[2]
The following match was a Ryogoku Matsuri Deathmatch, in which B Faultless Junky's (Jaki Numazawa, Masashi Takeda and Takumi Tsukamoto) took on the team of Masaya Takahashi, Ryuichi Sekine and SAGAT. Takeda put a board of cans on the mat and nailed a U-Crash to SAGAT for the win.[2]
Next, Brahman Kei, Brahman Shu and Takayuki Ueki defended the Yokohama Shopping Street 6-Man Tag Team Championship against Great Kojika, Kankuro Hoshino and Masato Inaba. Kojika applied a Texas cloverleaf on Ueki for the submission win to win the titles.[2]
Next, Wild Network (Manabu Soya and Ryuichi Kawakami) took on Hamakami (Hideyoshi Kamitani and Ryota Hama). Kawakami executed a Hurricane Driver to Kamitani for the win.[2]
Next, Twin Towers (Kohei Sato and Shuji Ishikawa) defended the Tag Team Championship against Yankee Two Kenju (Isami Kodaka and Yuko Miyamoto). Ishikawa delivered a Splash Mountain to Miyamoto to retain the titles.[2]
The penultimate match was a 20th Anniversary 20 Items Deathmatch, in which Abdullah Kobayashi defended the Deathmatch Heavyweight Championship against Ryuji Ito. Ito nailed a Dragon Kick and a Dragon Splash on Kobayashi to win the title.[2]
Main event match
In the main event, Daisuke Sekimoto defended the World Strong Heavyweight Championship against Yuji Okabayashi. Okabayashi hit a lariat, a Golem Splash and an elevated powerbomb to Sekimoto to win the title.[2]
