Rui José Gonçalves Paiva (born August 24, 1966) is a Portuguese entrepreneur and technology executive. In 2001, Rui Paiva co-founded and became chief executive officer (CEO) of WeDo Technologies. Rui also holds an executive and advisory position at Sonae IM[1][2],a tech investment company.[3], part of the SONAE Group.

Career

Prior to founding WeDo Technologies in 2001, Rui Paiva was System Information Director and Deputy of Optimus Communications’ Executive Committee. Before that, Rui was the Consultancy Director at Hewlett Packard Portugal, following a career at Telecel, which then became Vodafone Portugal, heading up their Infrastructure, Operations and Help Desk Department.

Rui Paiva holds a post-graduate degree in Management and Administration from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, as well as a BSc in Applied Mathematics.[4]

Awards

In 2017 Rui Paiva received the Tech Personality of the Year Award [5],by Exame Informática publication, and in 2010 he won the Best Leaders Award for WeDo Technologies.[6]
