Rubana Huq is a Bangladeshi businesswoman and poet.[1] She is a managing director of Mohammadi Group.[2] The Group began with exporting readymade garments and then diversified into software, digital distribution, real estate, power generation and the group’s latest are has been the launch of a television channel called Nagorik. Huq was featured in BBC 100 Women in 2013 and 2014.[3]

Career

Huq served as the CEO of TV Southasia from 2006 to 2010.[4]

Huq won the SAARC Literary Award for her poems in 2006.[4] She wrote a book of poems Time of My Life.

Huq is a member of board of trustees in Asian University for Women.[5]

On 13 August 2018, Huq was awarded PhD from Jadavpur University.[6]

Personal life

Huq was married to Annisul Huq, the late mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation. Together they have three children.
