Round-nose pliers

Round nose pliers, rosary pliers, snub-nose pliers or chain nose piers, are a specialized pair of pliers characterized by their rounded, tapering jaws.

Uses

They are most commonly used for creating loops in pieces of wire by electricians and jewellers[1] hence the name "rosary pliers".

Types

Often, round nose pliers have insulated handles for safe electrical work, a spring-fitted joint for ready opening and closing, and comfortable grips on the handles to make them easy to manipulate.

Others particularly favoured by jewellers and beadsmiths have variations such as a flat and a round jaw for making chain, or have uneven jaws so that both jaws are round, but untapered (snub-nose) but are differing sizes. This kind is used to make findings such as bails, jump rings and toggle clasps for wearable items.
