The fourth series of Ross Kemp: Extreme World, BAFTA-winning documentary maker Ross Kemp and his Extreme World team are back, gaining unparalleled access to the people and places caught up in some of the most important global issues of our time. You can’t say that Ross Kemp likes an easy life: the former EastEnders star has carved himself out a niche as a reporter willing to embed himself in some of the world’s most trouble-scarred spots. For his latest series, he’ll be meeting criminal biker gangs in Australia, Iraqi and Syrian immigrants in Calais, and exploring South Africa’s appalling rape epidemic.

Production

Sky One announced in 2014 that they had renewed extreme worlds for a fourth series to air in early 2015, unlike passed series the fourth series will be made up of 7x60 minute episodes making it the longest series. Filming begun straight after finishing for the third series.

Ross travels to the Murder capital of the world, where more than four murders per principal are committed each day. He undertakes the 1,500 mile journey travelled by more than 1,200 migrants every day, who attempt to reach the American border to escape violent gangs and bandits, whose sole aim is to rob, assault and kidnap vulnerable victims.

Ross investigates the ever increasing problem of migration in camps just outside the port of Calais, where more than 10,500 people attempted to enter the UK illegally over the course of six months in 2014. He meets with the UK border force, and learns of the many ways and means that migrants adopt in order to attempt to avoid detection.

Ross travels across Australia with various members of 1% motorcycle groups, whose daily life – and ultimately, their freedom – is being placed under threat by new laws implemented by the Australian government in the light of well documented outbreaks of violence.
