Rosemary Banks

Rosemary Banks (born 1951) is a former New Zealand diplomat. She was Ambassador to France and Permanent Representative to the OECD from 2010 to 2014.[1] [2] She was previously New Zealand's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York from June 2005 to June 2009.[3] She earlier served as deputy high commissioner to the Solomon Islands (1985–87), and Australia (1992-95).[4]

Banks graduated with an MA in Russian from the University of Canterbury,[4] and received an MSc from the London School of Economics in the UK. She was awarded an honorary doctorate of literature from the University of Canterbury in April 2015.[5] She is married to Brian Lockstone.
