Rosa Franklin

Rosa Franklin is a Washington State Senator (Democrat) for the 29th District (Tacoma). She serves as the President Pro-Tempore for the Senate.[1]

Early career

Franklin, who is African American had been a registered nurse before becoming an elected representative.[2][3]

Education

Franklin is a graduate of Good Samaritan Waverly Hospital School of Nursing in Columbia, South Carolina; University of Puget Sound, Pacific Lutheran University and holds a women’s Health Care Specialist Certificate from the University of Washington Gynecorp Training Program.[2]

Personal

Franklin and her husband James have been married for sixty-two years and have three children and five grandchildren.[2]
