Ros Barber (born 25 January 1964) is a British novelist, poet, and academic. She is currently a lecturer in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at Goldsmiths, University of London. Her first novel, The Marlowe Papers (2012), won the Desmond Elliott Prize[1] and Authors' Club First Novel Award.[2] Her second novel, Devotion (2015), was shortlisted for the Encore Award. Barber is the author of three volumes of poetry. The most recent, Material (2008), was a Poetry Book Society Recommendation. The title poem, also published in Faber's Poems of the Decade, is on the current EdExcel 'A' Level syllabus in the UK,[3] and her poem How to Leave the World that Worships Should has been set for AQA English Literature GCSE.[4]
