Ron Kingston is a recording artist, singer and songwriter from Melbourne, Australia.[1]

Career

Before his first album release, Kingston performed nationally and internationally with bands Vogon Poetry, Feel and Music Solution. Kingston also performed in New York City and played with bands at some of Manhattan's clubs. In 2000, he began performing in Asia and has performed in over 15 countries including Hong Kong, Bahrain, Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Brazil and India. Kingston’s second album entitled Ron Kingston was released in 2003. His first single from the album "Love Bible" was released in South Korea through BMG in 2004 gained more attention for its provocative and controversial music video which was produced by Empire Films Australia. The second single "Room 922" was released and became popular in Asia.[1]

Kingston continues to write and perform at festivals, resorts and venues around the world. He performed in Bahrain in the Gulf for US, British and Australian soldiers in 2008. In 2009, Kingston recorded his single "Make It Up To You" and in 2010 released his first live album titled Unplugged in Hong Kong.[2] In January 2011, Kingston met American producer and recording artist Keith Martin and began working on a collection of new songs for release. Their first collaboration is a duet with Indonesian artist Mia called "My Friend". The "My Friend" music video produced by Empire Films incorporated the latest multilayer post-production technology.[3]

In 2012, Kingston become known as the first western artist to write and record songs in Indonesian language. He performed his songs "Only You Only Me (Hanka Kau Dan Aku)" and "Kamar 922" at "Voice from the East" event. The event also featured prominent artists such as Glenn Fredly, Tompi, Sandy Sandoro and many other artists from Indonesia. This event was symbolic to promote culture from the eastern region of Indonesia. In 2016, Kingston performed at Hard Rock Casino in Las Vegas. A live performance was also broadcast on the Morning Blend TV show on ABC TV.[4][5]
