Roman Kemp (born January 28, 1993), is an English radio host and presenter for international radio network Capital FM. He was also the social media correspondent for The X Factor UK 2016.

Early life

Kemp is the son of Martin Kemp and Shirlie Holliman. His mother was a backing vocalist for the 1980s duo Wham! and a member of Pepsi & Shirlie, whilst his father is mainly known for being in the band Spandau Ballet and was also an actor in the soap opera EastEnders and a footballer for Melchester Rovers in comic strip Roy of the Rovers.[1] He is the youngest of two children, having an older sister, Harley Moon.[1] Singer George Michael was his godfather.[2][3]

Career

In November 2014 Kemp joined Capital FM to present Sunday 6-9am. He was promoted to Saturday 5-8pm and Sunday 9am-12pm a year later where he had the chance to interview artists on his show. In February 2016 Roman Kemp became the new face of The Capital Evening Show, weeknights 7-10pm in addition to his Sunday show. In 2017 Kemp began hosting Capital Breakfast from 6am-10am with Vick Hope across London and Sat 6am-9am across the Network. As a result, he left the evening show. In 2018, Sonny Jay joined Capital Breakfast full-time as a co-presenter.

In 2016, Kemp was The X Factor UK’s digital presenter and social media correspondent.[4] He also co-hosted Nick Kicks on Nicktoons, the sister channel from Nickelodeon UK.

Since January 2017, he has co-presented 2Awesome on ITV2 with Vick Hope.[5] He also presented The Hot Desk on ITV2. From 2 May 2017, Roman Kemp took over Capital FM London's breakfast show with Vick Hope. He narrated Bromans on ITV2 in 2017, in which his father played Emperor.[6] He appeared in an episode of Len Goodman's Partners in Rhyme. He took part in a celebrity edition of First Dates for Stand Up to Cancer in November 2017.

In November 2017, he was the backstage reporter on Children in Need Rocks the 80s. He presented the New Year's Eve Fireworks 2017 on BBC One.

On 1 March 2018, Kemp hosted The Global Awards 2018 alongside Rochelle Humes and Myleene Klass.
