The HandSonic HPD-20 is a hand percussion pad introduced by the Roland Corporation. It can be played on its own or used an as addition to a larger drum kit. The dynamicpads are made of rubber to reduce fatigue on the hands.
On board sounds
Each pad can be assigned different sounds. There are 850[2] on board that range from traditional drum kits to the 808 909 drum machines, to more exotic sounds like congas, bongos, djembe and tablas. The D-BEAM (an optical sensor on the pad) operates the splash cymbal.
WAV file import
You can import your own WAV files (up to 500) via USB flash memory into the Handsonic. The sample time is up to 12 minutes in mono (16-bit, 44.1 kHz) or six minutes in stereo.
