Roger W. Heyns

Roger W. Heyns (1918–1995) was an American professor and academic who served as chancellor of the University of California.

Life

He was born in Iowa in 1918.[1]

He died in 1995.[1]

Education

He received his A.B. degree from Calvin College in 1940 and his M.A. and Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Michigan.[2]

Career

He was the chancellor of UC Berkeley from 1965 to 1971.[1]

In 1968, he became involved in the turmoil of Berkeley's Free Speech Movement.[1]

He also served as president of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.[3]
