Roger Guyett is a visual effects supervisor and second unit director. Guyett and his fellow visual effects artists were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects for the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens.[1]

He started his career working in London doing commercials and TV idents in the mid-1980s. Following a move to the United States in 1993, he began working on various film projects. He initially worked at Pacific Data Images (PDI) before moving in 1995 to Industrial Light + Magic – one of the longest-standing and most successful visual effects companies in the world.

He has been nominated for 4 Oscars: he was also nominated for Star Trek Into Darkness, Star Trek and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. He has won 2 British Academy awards and been nominated a further 4 times.
