"Rock wit U (Awww Baby)" is a song by American R&B singer Ashanti. It was released in May 2003 as the lead single from her second studio album, Chapter II. The song peaked at number two on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 for one week behind Beyoncé and Jay-Z's "Crazy in Love" and became her first international hit from her second album, reaching number seven in the UK and number 19 in Australia. The song was certified Gold by the RIAA on June 16, 2010.

Music video

The music video was directed by Paul Hunter and was filmed in Miami. It premiered in May 2003.[1] The video was nominated at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards for Best R&B Video.

Synopsis

The video centers around Ashanti at a beach with her boyfriend while they are flirting in bed together and driving down the road in a Jeep. In some cases, we see the boyfriend watching Ashanti dance for him in the house and behind some trees at night. There's also a moment where she rides on a giant elephant in the water.
