Robert Zammit

Robert Zammit is an Australian veterinarian and television personality.[1]

He practices in Sydney and was a featured veterinarian on the long-running TV show Burke's Backyard.[2] He currently hosts a weekly radio show on 2GB. Rob initially worked as a consultant veterinary surgeon on "A Country Practice" then began on-screen work with Channel Seven on "Terry Willese Tonight". He later appeared as veterinarian on the "Today Show' then worked with Kerri-Anne Kennerley on the Midday Show. While still maintaining a veterinary practice on the outskirts of Sydney, his interest in zoo work has seen his family rear some unusual pets including lion cubs, tigers and a puma.

Since venturing into the practice by himself in 1980, Robert has turned Vineyard Veterinary Hospital into one of the most well known and admired practices of the area. Rob has dedicated his life to not only caring for animals but also teaching others to enjoy that similar passion. Known for his media work in such programs as A Country Practice, Burkes Backyard and 2GB, Dr Zammit’s first love is veterinary science with a special interest in small animal reproduction work. He lives on the premises with his family, including the numerous pets roaming around.

Dr Zammit is an ambassador for the Animal Welfare League of NSW, as well as the director of Zambi Wildlife Retreat along side Traci Griffiths and Donna Wilson.[1]
