Robert Bastard

Robert Bastard (also known as Robert le Bastard) was a Norman feudal lord, involved in the Norman Conquest, and afterwards tenant-in-chief of an area in Devonshire. His main seat was at Efford, and his other lands included the manors of Meavy, Haroldesore, East Stonehouse and Bicheford. He also gained control of lands in what is now Plympton, which contained 2 villeins returning an income of 5 shillings.[1][2][3][4][5]
