Rob Potylo "RP" (born Louis Robert Potylo, September 3, 1976) is a Los Angeles, California-based musician, comedian, and entertainment producer. Since 2009, Potylo has produced and appeared in five seasons of an ongoing cable and online series about the Los Angeles, and Boston arts and music scene, Quiet Desperation.[1][2][3] He is the son of Louis and Patricia Potylo of Danvers, Massachusetts.[4][5]

Career

In September 2007, Potylo appeared in an episode of a reality dating show called Sox Appeal which was broadcast on New England Sports Network (NESN). The dating show which took place on the right field roof deck during a Red Sox game at Fenway Park saw Potylo predict a David Ortiz double during the broadcast.[6]

Rob came in 2nd in the 2009 Andy Kaufman Award competition at Caroline's Comedy club in New York City. Judged by Andy's dad, brother Michael, and Kristen Schaal

In February 2011, Potylo teamed up with Jennifer Coolidge of Best In Show, American Pie (film series) fame. Helping sing "Happy Birthday" to Jennifer's dad at the Wilbur Theatre and filming his reality series Quiet Desperation with her.[7]

In 2012, Potylo collaborated with performance artists and anarchist presidential candidate Vermin Supreme and was featured as Supreme's protege in the 2014 documentary "Who Is Vermin Supreme? An Outsider Odyssey."[8][9]

He is also known for his former onstage comedic persona, Robby Roadsteamer.

In December 2014 Robby Roadsteamer made his big return at The Middle East Downstairs in Cambridge, MA along his new manager WWE's The "Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart with whom he also created a new mockumentary series "Loud Satisfaction".[10]

Rob is one of the Executive producers of WWE's Chyna documentary. He was a close friend to Chyna up until her death in April 2016.

Potylo appeared on Season 1, Episode 4 of The Gong Show to perform his song "Hot Dogs And Applesauce, and encored with "Shaving Cream" by Benny Belle. Only contestant to received a SAG performer's credit through the show.[11]

Potylo appeared on Ellen (TV series) on Season 15 episode 38 playing a Leper in the IT Haunted House at Warner Bros Studio lot. Scarring Executive Producer Andy Lassner, and informing Ellen DeGeneres that he "lives in a closet" to which she replied "Come out, it's so much freer.
